About N-Balance Physical Therapy

Call Us: 972-722-1212

N-Balance Physical Therapy is an out-patient orthopedic clinic, locally owned and operated by Nancy Cano, PT, DPT. We believe that it is important not only to treat the patient during the rehabilitation process, but to incorporate overall fitness into the patient’s lifestyle after rehab.

“To treat the patient holistically, I believe that you need a balance of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.”
Nancy Cano, PT, DPT; Owner of N-Balance Physical Therapy

Dr Nancy Cano, PT, DPT, is a licensed Physical Therapist with 20+ years of experience in Physical Therapy and has been in private practice since 2006. She received her Bachelor’s in physical therapy from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 1999 and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas Women’s University-Dallas in 2016. Continuing her education, Nancy has earned post-professional certificates from TWU in Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Women’s Health Certificate. She has also studied OMT (Osteopathic Manual Therapy) under Dr. Ed Stiles, D.O. F.A.A.C. and Micha Sale, P.T. who are well known for their techniques in functional restoration.

Nancy’s specialty has been treating orthopedic chronic pain conditions, such as chronic back and neck pain, hip pain, and shoulder pain. While treating both men and women, a larger percentage of her patients are female, and she has found that there are problems that are unique to females ranging from pregnancy to postmenopausal. The desire to learn more about women’s health issues took her on her journey to pursuing her Women’s Health Certificate with TWU. She believes this is an area that is under-served in the medical community and has a passion to serve the special needs of these women.

Nancy is a native Texan and has lived in Rockwall with her husband since 1999. She has three grown children and a growing number of grandchildren. Faith in Jesus Christ is important to her and she is an active member of Lake Pointe Church. Nancy has gone on several mission trips in Mexico, Nigeria, and Haiti. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family, and refinishing furniture.

Marie helped oversee and develop the Performance Pilates Program at the Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center in Dallas from the early 2000s till 2020. She has completed the Neuro-core Kinetic Certificate in 2004, Mat certification with Power Pilates in 2005, Teachers Training a Pilates Unlimited in 2007, and received her Pilates Method Alliance Certification in 2011. She has successfully completed the Comprehensive Pilates Transition Certification with Polestar Pilates International in 2015 and is an instructor/educator for Polestar Pilates.

One of Marie’s favorite saying is “Pilates brings the possibility to help people age in a strong body”.

For fun she spends time with her husband exploring the state of Texas as they participate in Trail Running throughout the Hill Country, Big Ben National Park, and other places.

Dr Heather LeFort, PT, DPTcompleted a Bachelor of Exercise Science at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) at the University of St. Augustine in Austin, Texas. During her studies she found the value and need for manual therapy. It has a vital role in improving one’s mobility of the musculoskeletal system as well as stability through movement. She is passionate about improving patients’ quality of life through personalized treatment techniques and education. She specializes in Orthopedic Manual Therapy, Women’s Health, and Cancer Rehabilitation.

Physical Therapy provides the opportunity for Heather to continue to evolve, grow, and learn throughout her career. She is currently working towards a Manual Therapy Certification under the University of St. Augustine and progressing her knowledge of women’s health therapy through Herman and Wallace leading to a future certification in women’s health.

Heather was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and now lives in McKinney, Texas with her husband and two daughters. They love watching movies and being outdoors by the water.
